Before the start of the month.
Before the start of the holy month of Ramadhan, recite these two Supplications. Firstly, a supplication recited when sighting the new moon, called Dua e Ruyati Hilal. This supplication was recited by our fouth Imam, Imam Ali Zain-ul-Abideen, As-Sajjad (as) upon the sighting. This supplication is number 43 from Sahifa Sajjadia. [1]
Secondly, a supplication for welcoming the holy month of Ramadhan, called Dua e Istaqbaal e Ramadhan. This is also taken for the Sahifa Sajjadia book. It is supplication number 44.
You can find the audio for both the supplication here recited in Urdu.
